The Wizard Currency Need to know how many Knuts to a Sickle? How many Sickles to a Galleon? Below you'll find a conversation table with some added information about the Wizarding currency. The Galleon The largest type of coin in the Wizarding World. It is gold and round. One Galleon is equal to seventeen Sickles. The Sickle A Sickle is the second largest coin in the Wizarding World. This coin is smaller than a Galleon, but larger than a Knut. Twenty-nine Knuts equals one Sickle. Conversion Chart 1 Galleon = 17 Sickles | 1 Sickle = 29 Knuts | 1 Galleon = 493 Knuts Wizarding money is kept in a bank, as is Muggle money. The wizarding bank in England is Gringotts which is run by Goblins. These Goblins are very tough creatures who adhere to giving the money the utmost of protection. They put spells and enchantments in the vaults to stop other people gaining access to someone else's money. Gringotts is located in Diagon Alley in London, and Muggle money may be exchanged here. It goes back into circulation in the Muggle world however we do not no how they do this. |
